Possibly a great crib...but a TERRIBLE company...Avoid the hassle! Dec 04, 2008

I bought the sleepi system and was very excited after reading many positive reviews. We put the bassinet together and quickly realized that the mattress was far too small. After looking online I found out that the mattresses had been recalled. I had to HOUND (around 15 phone calls and twenty emails) them for a proper mattress. I finally received the bassinet mattress after a few months. They promised to send a new crib mattress when they got them in stock. When I hadn't received a new one a few weeks after they told me to expect it, I contacted the representative I had been corresponding with via email. I then received an email stating that she would be "out of the office" until February. This is when I found out that they have removed their telephone number from their website. I have now gotten word that I must send them a picture of the crib and ill fitting mattress in order to get a safe one. The problem is, that would require me taking the bassinet apart in order to put a crib together that I won't need for a few months. The serial number of the mattress is listed as recalled and the won;t send me a new one without photo evidence. What would I get out of lying about it? What a pain.
BOTTOM LINE: Your baby's safety is of utmost importance...but not to this company. Terrible customer service. Just terrible. I think of my interaction with them as a second job. It requires that much effort and causes undue frustration. The crib itself is kinda cool but NOT WORTH THE EXPENSE (financial or time).

Wish we knew now . . . Jul 05, 2010
By A. Maffei Totally disappointed with this purchase. We accepted the high purchase price because we thought it would even out in the long run as is "grew" with our child, but we'll be getting rid of it before we even get to the toddler stage of the bed where you take one of the sides out.
It was great as a bassinet, but expanding it to the next larger size was quite a mean feat. The holes were juuust enough off that getting the screws in required literally pushing the frame with all your might against a wall to further bend the wood into place to get the oval frame together. Once that was complete the bottom support that holds the mattress wasn't even long enough to be secured to the frame on both ends so it was like having a diving board on one end. Our babies leg could have easily gotten caught, but we jammed this gap with pillows, toys, etc. One of the wheels also kept coming loose and falling off. We screwed it back on several times, but it is now stripped, so we have resorted to propping the bed up on that side with books.
I could make a few other points, but this bed has wasted enough of my time and money. Just wanted to warn other parents not to bother. Nice design in theory. Too bad it's so poorly executed.

Nice, but has a few flaws Jan 27, 2012
By Mama The crib is white, all the hardware is brown-black, and the white plastic coverings won't fit, so hardware will show and it stains too, some oil or rust on it. The wood has some imperfections, like scratches and dents, but as long as the warranty will cover the wood breakage I'm fine with those. Overall looks nice, steady, different, stylish, convenient, made in Romania! At least not China! Honestly I would expect better quality for the money, but I guess that's the best you can get on the market now.

LOVE this crib Jan 21, 2011
By pcha We bought the full system - bassinet, crib and junior - and it's grown beautifully with our daughter. Our bedrooms are VERY small, so I love the small footprint it has. The sheets to go with it are expensive, so I bought crib sheets as she got older and simply tuck them in. But I have been very pleased with it.

good footprint, not sturdy and DANGEROUS May 01, 2010

We bought this crib because we lived in Manhattan when I got pregnant and needed to stay in our 1 bedroom apartment for 9 months of my son's life. We needed something with a small footprint. We considered a bassinet or mini crib but figured then we might have to buy a crib anyway before the 9 months was up. We had no idea how fast our son would grow. We liked that it was on wheels and could fit through door ways. It has lived up to its expectations on all of those fronts but failed miserably on the most fundamental aspect....structure. We continually have to tighten the bolts in it. Just today I went into my son's room to find him w/ one of the bolts in his mouth!!!! I was sure I had left a positive review of this thing and wanted to come delete it. It looks like I never bothered to review it and I am glad that I am just now reviewing it as I've had it for a while (my son is now 16+ months) & grown to hate this thing. You'd think for 800$ it would stay together! We have many items we have had to assemble at home as we are avid Ikea shoppers....but never have we had an Ikea item fall apart. P.S. If you decide to buy it anyway you can find inexpensive & unique sheets (sans bumper) on etsy.com
