great Oct 13, 2007
By Jennifer M. Kelly This product is solid, very sturdy well packaged and easily assembled. The simplicity and basic style I strongly recommend. I am a nurse with three special needs children and my 24 month old with mild cerebral palsy (left sided weakness) and substantial sensory issues was able to maneuver it safely. I recommend this for any toddler specifically any identified toddler receiving services with mild to moderate delays in the areas of physical therapy, occupational therapy, early childhood educator and speech delay with sensory issues. Also beneficial for children on the autistic spectrum (my other son).

Something that Toddler and Mama can both like Jan 27, 2008
By Kindra This is a wonderful rocking horse. It is sturdy, simple and attractive. My 14 month old can easily get on and off it and enjoys rocking.
The pictures really don't do it justice. We exchanged one of the plastic horses with sounds and lights for this one, and are thrilled with this one. It goes nice with our hickory floors and doesn't make the living room look like a toy store.

Looks nice Jul 10, 2009
By K. Lawrence It's very nice looking, I'll give it that. It's certainly not some cheap, tacky looking thing. It's smaller than I expected. My two year old fits on it fine, but he would also do fine with something a lot bigger; he's about average sized. Again, it's excellent quality and beautiful, but small- it's for toddlers, not older than 2.5 or 3 at the oldest. The pro's are that the little red back prevents him from sliding off. It's easy to get on/off. It fits in a little corner, doesn't take up much room and is not an eye sore. It doesn't rock too far either way, which would be good for a very small child, but my son got bored with it quickly because he likes to rock faster/further.
I would recommend this to someone with a one year old or a two year old, but not older than that. Over all, the price is excellent for the quality of it.

Pay no mind to recommended age group Mar 07, 2011
By NHgal I bought this for my niece's 1st birthday and was worried about the size for her age. The recommended age was 2-4 but she fits perfectly! An average size 1 year old would have no problem getting on and off of this and rocking with an adult close by and I actually think a 4 year old would be way too big for it. She immediately hopped on and rocked with a huge smile on her face! Very cute horse and easy to assemble, feels quite durable.

Nice Toddler Toy! Dec 29, 2010

First, I think all the PLAN toys are great. I haven't had a poor quality toy in the half dozen or so I've bought. Second, I got an amazing sale price on this. It was so so so inexpensive that it was a justifiable impulse Christmas buy! Now that we have it, I know I would have paid twice the price I got it for because it is so well loved and well made. Third, Amazon Prime Rocks! Really, really fast shipping. I ordered it on Tuesday night before Christmas and it arrived Thursday mid day!
My son is a tall 18 month old, and it is a great height for him. It is a little challenge for him to get on it, but his feet nearly do touch the ground. It is sturdy for his size and weight, but it would be ridiculous to expect him to use it for more than six months to a year... it simply cannot be safe or fun for five year olds! Why doesn't the company recommend it for that age group?
My son loves to rock it, but at first my husband was concerned that the geometry of the rockers would not be conducive to rocking. Its true that it doesn't rock wildly, but its an arabian horse, not a bucking bronco, right? I think it does just fine on our carpet.
The color is a little different than on my screen... the red is more of a poppy orange and the blue is much more teal. I prefer the real life colors to the photo onscreen, though.
