JellyCAT! FANTASTIC toys! Jul 25, 2010 I grew up receiving stuffed animals from all over the world. My father traveled on business frequently and had a gift for finding the best made toys!
A well made stuffed toys will last years, even with the roughest kiddo!
With the rise of mass produced Corporate manufactures who often own the toy store front, quality of soft toys now equates what one would find on the mid-way of any back woods carnival. With so few Ma and Pa style business left to compete, its a relief to find a toy manufacture who got back to basics!
Jellycat toys are simple, extremely durable, well made, surprisingly expressive even in their simplicity and absolutely adored by any child to receive one!
I have no children of my own, so spending a bit on a proper toy is no problem. These are a favorite of mine to give my friends kids for their birthday or Christmas. There are so many to chose from, all age groups and male/female.
Every round of these gifts I give, years later my friends tell me they still have the cat or horse..........whatever toy I gave their child.
I have even inspected some of the toys 3 yrs into their use! I don't know how many times Julie says she put one in the wash again and was surprised by how well it cleaned up! I gave her twin girls each a cat when they were 3, they are now 7! The cats are still slept with every night, taken everywhere, left outside, brought back in, eaten with, closed in the car door frequently.
I find myself blown away by how much abuse these toys take without looking ratty!
The kids are all now 6-8, I am only just now replacing the cats.
All soft toys should be made this well! I have a soft toy from my childhood, a raccoon, my sister has a frog. Both those toys came from England. We loved them to death but still they are in nice enough shape, I cant bring myself to throw either out.
Its nice to have tucked away in a trunk, along with photos; a childhood friend.
