Tears Easily May 17, 2011
By K. Denning

The problem with the DaVinci Dresser is that only this pad seems to fit in it. This mat would be great except that the plastic tears very easily. I can't find a changing pad cover that fits it either! I have taken to keeping a roll of clear tape nearby to patch up rips and tears. My son is 18 mos old and we are on our 3rd pad already.
If you can find an alternative pad or a cover for this to prevent tears, I suggest you buy it!
Cheap fabric, rips all the time Apr 16, 2012
By NYC Picky Buyer I must've gone through at least 3 or 4 of these changing pads in my daughter's first year. They wipe up easily but the fabric is super cheap and rips all the time. This is the only changing pad that fits perfectly with the DaVinci changing table, but I've switched to another brand of changing pad (even if the size is not 100% right). This just isn't worth the money.
Gets the job done without too much fuss Dec 03, 2011
By J. Dreesen i prefer this changing pad cover to the more expensive, contoured ones (yes, even the ones with softer covers/fabrics) because when it comes down to it, my baby and i would both rather just get the diaper changed and move on.
pros: 1) exact fit to the dimensions of our DaVinci Changing Table (we have the Emily model, 3-drawer changer) so no refitting or cutting, etc.
2) this pad is easy to wipe clean with a cloth (after a drool-a-thon) or mild cleanser (after any-other-type-of-bodily-fluid-a-thon).
3) easy enough to flip over and start using the other side once one side gets damaged (or, as we say, "compromised!").
cons: 1) the price is a little much for the product's components, but we figure we're paying for the convenience of it being an exact replacement for the pad that came with the dresser initially so there are no sizing issues or other surprises.
2) ours seems to have a little static-cling component, so our daughter's hair sticks to it and it makes her look like Doc Brown every other time we change her. actually, that's more funny than problematic, but we're a family of Back to the Future fans, so i thought it only fair to mention.
and finally, i don't necessarily think this is a pro or con, so let's just call it a "comment":
we made it about 5 months before having to order a replacement. after the first couple of months there were a few little razor-thin slits here and there, likely from our own nails or our daughter grasping/"pulling" on the vinyl cover. like i state above, we just flipped it over and we started using the other side. once i saw a tiny tear on the other side we ordered a replacement and it arrived within a few days.
overall not a bad product for its purpose. we don't need anything fancy or fluffy; this changing table is simple and durable enough for the time being until our changing table becomes just a "dresser" when our daughter gets a little older!
plastic cover tears easily, but it fits the DaVinci Emily table May 25, 2011
By moss dog Ditto the previous two reviews -- our son is 15 mo and the cover on his original changing pad is shredded. Not only does the badly-torn plastic mean that urine can now get into the pad itself, but also, because the pad is so thin, without the extra strength of the intact plastic covering, the pad can't stay flat when covered with an elastic-cornered cover. So I have a shredded, potentially peed-upon, arched-up pad at the moment that I have to flatten out with one hand before I put my baby on it with the other. That's just unnecessary stress.
I debated getting another kind b/c this one is so cheaply made, but we have a DaVinci table, I prefer the flat pads, and this is what fits. So - I know I'm going to be annoyed as soon as the new one rips (and I know it will), but I'm getting it anyway, because there aren't a lot of options. The rips happen, btw, when the baby kicks or flips on the table - he pulls one way with his hand and pushes the other with his knee, and the plastic rips in half. I really don't think it's unexpected that a baby would act this way on the changing table, so - crappy design, people!
I would like to see someone make a flat pad the same size as this one, except twice as thick (so it would have a better chance of laying flat inside a fitted cover), and with the kind of durable plastic cover that the contoured pads have.
Changing pad Jan 04, 2011
By A. Schaefer While I do my diaper changes on the floor, I prefer using a full size flat changing pad. The plastic cover on this one is thin and started coming apart within a couple weeks. This might work better with the DaVinci Changer, or with some sort of fabric cover. But I will need to replace mine with something else. I have also purchased Summer Infant Changing Table Pad - 32" X 16" X 1" and that was a more durable flat changing pad.
